Tragedi Pelaut Indonesia: Dipulangkan dalam Keadaan Sakit dari Turki, Meninggal Dunia di Indonesia

Sebuah insiden tragis menimpa seorang pelaut Indonesia yang bekerja sebagai kelasi /OS di kapal kargo berbendera Panama yang saat itu sedang bersandar di pelabuhan di AUTOPORT, IZMIT Turki. Pelaut tersebut dikirim pulang ke Indonesia dalam kondisi sakit tanpa terlebih dahulu mendapatkan perawatan medis yang memadai di Turki. Kejadian ini menyoroti dugaan pelanggaran terhadap Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) 2006 yang mengatur hak-hak dan perlindungan bagi awak kapal.

Pemulangan Tanpa Perawatan yang Memadai

Berdasarkan informasi yang diterima dari kolega ITF (International Transport Workers’ Federation) Inspector di Turki, pelaut tersebut mengalami radang atau pembengkakan di leher. Namun, alih-alih mendapatkan perawatan di rumah sakit setempat, ia justru dikirim pulang ke Indonesia. Perjalanan panjang yang melibatkan transit di India semakin memperburuk kondisinya.

Setibanya di Bandara Soekarno-Hatta, Jakarta, awak kabin pesawat menemukan sang pelaut dalam keadaan tidak sehat. Dengan segera, ia dirujuk ke sebuah rumah sakit di kawasan Tangerang untuk mendapatkan perawatan medis. Sayangnya, upaya medis tidak dapat menyelamatkannya, dan ia menghembuskan napas terakhirnya di rumah sakit tersebut.

Respons SAKTI dan ITF

Mendapatkan informasi ini, SAKTI ( Serikat Awak Kapal Transportasi Indonesia )  serikat pekerja pelaut di Indonesia member FPPI yang beraffiliasi dengan ITF segera menghubungi agen perekrutan yang menempatkan almarhum di kapal tersebut ( PT.SJM ). Diketahui bahwa pemilik agensi tersebut tengah dalam perjalanan ke Parepare untuk mengantar jenazah ke rumah duka. Setelah pemakaman selesai, serikat pekerja melaporkan kembali kepada kolega ITF Inspector di Turki.

ITF Inspector Turki kemudian mengirimkan email resmi kepada pemilik kapal untuk meminta klarifikasi mengapa pelaut tersebut dikirim pulang tanpa mendapatkan perawatan medis yang layak di Turki. Tindakan ini dinilai sebagai pelanggaran serius terhadap MLC 2006, yang mengharuskan pemilik kapal memastikan awak kapalnya mendapatkan akses perawatan kesehatan yang memadai.

Tuntutan Keadilan untuk Ahli Waris

Sebagai bentuk pertanggungjawaban, ITF Turki juga menuntut agar pemilik kapal memberikan kompensasi yang layak kepada ahli waris almarhum. Sesuai dengan regulasi MLC 2006, pemilik kapal bertanggung jawab atas kesejahteraan dan keselamatan awak kapalnya, termasuk dalam situasi darurat medis.

Kasus ini kembali mengingatkan akan pentingnya pengawasan ketat terhadap praktik perekrutan dan perlindungan pelaut Indonesia yang bekerja di kapal asing. Serikat pekerja SAKTI dan ITF akan terus mengawal kasus ini agar keluarga almarhum mendapatkan hak-haknya, serta memastikan kejadian serupa tidak terulang di masa mendatang.
